He needs to get as much media coverage as possible (which shouldn’t be hard considering his rabid following in the MSM) highlighting differences between himself and the President (hence that global warming speech a few weeks ago).

Besides, those that really care about these issues (Sierra Club types) will vote heavily for his Democratic opponent anyway, but that won’t stop John McCain from talking about anything besides Iraq and the economy, the issues that are on the mind of every American.
