  • Birtherism isn’t dead May 18, 2012
Discussion of President Obama’s place of birth died down significantly when he released his long-form birth certicate. But birtherism still lives, even if it no longer gets as much attention. Nationally, conservative bloggers have seized an opportunity to raise the issue. In some places disbelief in Obama’s America origins is still strong, and politicians ar […]

  • Wisconsin recall slipping away from Democrats May 18, 2012
Just two and a half weeks remain in the recall of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), and momentum seems to be firmly on the GOP’s side. All three polls out this week show Walker leading Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D) by between 5 percent and 9 percent. Perhaps more illustrative, though, are the candidate’s personal favorability and approval numbers. Read full […]

Cheney Is Delusional (What Else Is New)

“With much yet to do, President Bush and I remain grateful for the opportunity to serve this country. With an economy to strengthen and a war to fight, we’ll stay focused on the business of the people. We’ll come to a strong finish, and I’m confident our jobs will be left in good hands.”

An economy to strengthen? Who is the one that turned the biggest budget surplus in our nation’s history into the biggest deficit? Who is the one that nearly doubled the federal debt? Guess those tax cuts for investors and the wealthy haven’t worked out according to plan, eh Dick?

A war to fight? You mean the Iraq War? You mean the country that had nothing to do with 9/11 yet is now more closely aligned to the far more dangerous Iran and their mullah-controlled government than ever before? You mean that war? You gotta love how Cheney lays out all that remains to be accomplished while ignoring the fact that his policies are the reasons we are in this mess in the first place. That’s right Dick! You tell those true believers at the Conservative Political Action Conference. It seems their new motto should be “War and tax cuts do a body (politic) good.”

My blood went cold when I read these words of Cheney’s:

“Among these are some fine citizens now running for office, including, I am certain, the next president of the United States.”

The imperial ambition of this power-sharing arrangement between Bush and Cheney is still a threat to the Constitution and our civil liberties.

These would-be Caesars have ample time to work further mischief in foreign and domestic policy.

Even the photo with its symbolic imperial trappings filled me with dread.

Bush/Cheney are power-hungry, and their agenda of neutralizing those parts of the Constitution they find inconvenient won’t end if another Republican administration wins or steals the election.

Similarly, up to three justices of the Supreme Court could be appointed by the next President. The long term future of American jurisprudence may be decided in November. I hope this country makes the right choice.

We are one conservative justice away from losing Roe vs. Wade and other civil liberties, and for me, the Court is the single most important issue in this election.

But I have no confidence that voters will look that far into the future.

  • Joshua Rosenstock

I agree. Less than 1% of all Americans can even name one Supreme Court justice. They have no idea how important this issue is but conservatives sure do. To them, the confirmation of Roberts and Scalia is the Bush administration’s biggest accomplishment.

Cheney and Bush are DELUSIONAL and PSYCOPATHS- They are pwer hungry-greedy, nut jobs- Bush and Cheney are planning at this moment to stage a an attack that “appears” to be from “Al-Qaida”- but in reality is a plot by the bush admin. to make it look like another 911 in order to “save face” ! Martial law will be imposed and bush will take over in a dicatatorship and start wwIII.

Bend over people- you know what is about to hit the fan !

Ask cheney why he just built a Nuclear bomb shelter.
