Confused About Pro-Life Priorities

South Dakota’s abortion law, among the strictest in the nation, bans the procedure in all cases except when necessary to save a woman’s life, with no exceptions for rape or incest.

Leslee Unruh, one of the main promoters of the new law, is trying to convince voters that abortion must be stopped because it harms both unborn babies and the women who have abortions.

It’s probably the loudest cry we’ve heard. It’s because there are so many women who have been harmed by abortion, myself being one of them, who have come together,” Unruh said.

My question – How come Unruh and others of her ilk aren’t seeking a ban to stop the sale of tobacco? After all, it has killed millions of men, women AND children.

Pro-life? More like anti-choice…

  • Josh, I am surprised that an intelligent guy like you places tobacco and abortion on the same level.

Since you are a lawyer, you should probably sue Rutgers and Seton Hall School of Law- they did not do that much of good job after all. :)

    Vlad,

I am not surprised that a single issue pro-life fanatic like yourself is blind to the hypocrisy of an ideology that believes life is sacred only until birth. The same idiots marching outside abortion clinics simultaneously boast of their support for the death penalty and endless military activity. You can’t err on the side of life when it’s convenient for you and not be labeled a hypocrite.

It is a fact that significantly more people die each year from cigarette smoking than unborn fetuses are aborted but why let facts get in the way of blind faith to a similarly blind agenda.

Besides, you didn’t seem to have a problem with Seton Hall Law School when Justice Samuel Alito was a guest lecturer there.

…….not to mention the Crusades, the trial of Jean D’Arc, the Spanish Inquistion, the Salem Witch Trials, The United Klans of America, (just to mention a few) and everything else in kind throughout the past…. murder in the name of deity. Not to mention the constantly ongoing crusade by a ‘Moral (sic) Majority’ to invest, in the Presidency, an agent of their own persuasion because they are firmly convinced that they constitute the one and only true way …therefore….they would have us regress to a fargone age and reunite faith and state once again, not withstanding the transgressions history has witnessed to that effect.

Isn’t interesting that when ‘torchbearers’ like Vlad are reminded of the murderous history of ‘organized religions’, in both past and present days, they seem to have little more to preach about their causes.
