If you could sign a bill that would slash global warming emissions, create jobs, and save consumers money – all at the same time – would you do it?
Of course you would. And right now, Congress has the chance to do just that by passing an Energy Bill that would reduce our dependence on dirty fossil fuels once and for all.
With Congress on the verge of finalizing an Energy Bill, our goal is to raise $15,000 by December 10 to fund our efforts to raise public awareness and make sure Congress finally passes a clean and strong Energy Bill.

There have been months of debate over this bill, thanks to opposition from Big Industry lobbyists. Now, lawmakers are expected to make a decision in the next couple of weeks. America
can’t afford to wait any longer for sensible energy policy – help make sure a clean Energy Bill is passed this fall.
We’ve waited long enough – America needs a sensible, progressive energy policy now. But with Congress nearing a final decision, industry lobbyists are fighting harder than ever. That means we need to ramp up our resources right now.
No more stalling on clean energy – click this link to help us reach $15,000 by Dec. 10.
We’re doubling our efforts to raise public awareness, educate legislators about what’s at stake, and rally activists across the country. It’s all part of our work to protect critical provisions in the final version of the Energy Bill:
-Increase the average mileage of cars and trucks to 35 miles per gallon by 2020.
-Require utilities to generate 15% of their power from clean, renewable energy sources by 2020.
-Support the renewable energy industry – instead of giving tax breaks to Big Oil.
Just imagine what these sensible, progressive ideas could do for our environment and our economy. Can I count on you to help us make it happen?

This Energy Bill is our best bet for stopping global warming and ending America’s addiction to oil. We’ve been working toward it for months – and we’re not slowing down now!
Thank you for your support, and thank you for keeping us moving toward a clean energy future.
I applaud your efforts, but I’m tired of pouring my money down the rathole that Congress has become in a fruitless attempt to create a sensible energy policy.
-Public awareness was raised as far back as the the oil crisis of the 1970s, and again recently with the rise in gasoline and heating oil prices.
- Legislators have been educated for years about the dangers of our dependence on oil: the impact on climate change, the damage to our budget, the fact that our petrodollars are enriching the very countries that wish to harm us.
Nothing — I repeat, NOTHING — will change until we remove the choke hold that Big Oil and Big Industry have around the neck of Congress with their lobbyists and campaign contributions.
Furthermore: the goals of this bill are pathetic.
35 miles per gallon by 2020? Why should we wait 12 years? Europe has had those standards for years. We should force higher mileage standards NOW!
