Just two and a half weeks remain in the recall of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), and momentum seems to be firmly on the GOP’s side. Giuliani: A Selective Control Freak

He loves to tell you how he singlehandedly saved New York City after 9/11, how he was the mastermind behind lowering taxes and controlling spending, how he was both accountable and solely responsible for the decision making and management of the city government. But something as routine as whether it would be appropriate for a publicly elected official to provide taxpayer-funded security for a mistress?

“The New York city police department has rules, they apply the rules. They apply it exactly the same way as they always apply it. I did not make the judgment. I didn’t ask for it…It was done because they took the view that it was serious and that it had to be done this way.”

Amazing how the bad decisions were always conveniently delegated off to the lowly and unworthy peons.

Many New Yorkers know the REAL Giuliani as a conniving, sleazy, ethically-challenged egomaniac — a Donald Trump with better hair.

I was initially concerned that voters in the rest of the country would fall for the “America’s Mayor” crap and propel Rudy into the White House.

But as with many candidates, the more of them you see, the less of them there is. And Rudy’s balloon seems to be bursting one pop at a time.

Maybe there’s hope that the rest of the country will eventually see what New Yorkers have seen and put an end to Da Mayor’s ambition.

With two “holy rollers” on the stump, the chances look good that your hope will be realized. However, be careful what you wish for. Clinton likely outdid Bush because Bush could not divorce himself from the religious right. History just might repeat itself.
