The easiest way to tell that the Republican Party is in trouble is the fact that they have nominated a maverick as their candidate. McCain has made himself clear that he plans to get the party back on track as the economically responsible party and good for him. It’s time for the GOP to return to its roots. Maybe we could finally have a President who protects the purse from the pillagers.

How is McCain a maverick? He supports the Bush Administration on every major policy across the board. The media feeds into this myth as if it is still 2000 and the public willingly eats it up.
If the GOP really wanted to return to its roots, it would stop trying to be the police of the world, and it definitely would not nominate someone with 26 years experience in Congress.
