If McCain Thinks He Is Getting The Treehugger Vote…

June 24, 2008 – 1:58 pm

…he is sorely mistaken. All of the talk about how McCain would be a more environmentally-friendly President than his predecessor (not exactly a difficult task) is just a way to distract voters from the fact that a McCain administration would be a third term of office for Bush. Don’t just take my word for it.

Their positions are virtually identical on every major issue but McCain is desperate to separate himself from someone who has the lowest approval rating for a president since such a poll originated. He needs to get as much media coverage as possible (which shouldn’t be hard considering his rabid following in the MSM) highlighting differences between himself and the President (hence that global warming speech a few weeks ago).

Besides, those that really care about these issues (Sierra Club types) will vote heavily for his Democratic opponent anyway, but that won’t stop John McCain from talking about anything besides Iraq and the economy, the issues that are on the mind of every American. Independent voters - read between the lines and see what McCain is really up to here.
