Huckabee attributes his rise in the polls to divine intervention.
What an insult to Deity and common sense.
As if the notion of God getting involved in politics wasn’t ridiculous enough, the hillbilly literalists always have Him coming down on the side of ignorance and hostility toward science.

The only thing keeping Huckabee a Republican is his religiosity. An analysis of his positions demonstrates that he really is a liberal Democrat, not much different from Teddy Kennedy on many issues.
However, analyzing anything beyond initial appearances requires way too much work for the true believers.
I don’t know much about Ron Paul, but he had a good response to this ad:
“…when fascism comes to this country, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross.”
(He said he was quoting Sinclair Lewis, but apparently there is no proof Lewis said or wrote it.)
