Meanwhile, In Baghdad…
June 17, 2008 – 3:53 pmRemember when Bush repudiated nation building regarding United States foreign policy? This is what happens when you think and act like you are the police force for the entire world. Barry Goldwater is rolling over in his grave.
A car bomb set to explode during the busiest time of day killed at least 51 people and wounded 75 Tuesday evening as shoppers were strolling through a Shiite neighborhood market in Baghdad. It was the deadliest attack in the Iraqi capital in more than three months.
The blast struck a crowded bus terminal near a market in Huriya, a northwest Baghdad district that once had a large population of Sunnis but after the American-led invasion saw horrific ethnic cleansing by Shiite militias and death squads, who killed or drove thousands of Sunnis out.

One Response to “Meanwhile, In Baghdad…”
I’m sick of reading about these bombings and counting the dead — American AND Iraqi.
It is beyond outrageous that we continue to occupy a country that clearly doesn’t want us there. How many more people must die before our government comes to its senses and withdraws our troops?
In addition to feelings of outrage, these stories make me cry for the lives lost, and fill me with shame for the devastation America has caused in my name.
Justice demands there be a special place in hell for George Bush and the lying criminals in his administration who created this disaster.
