Nevertheless, after only a week's exposure to the right-wing "hockey mom" ideologue from Alaska, there's been a 20-point swing among white women in favor of the GOP ticket. This confirms my observation that small-town Wal-Mart shoppers -- the group that will most likely decide this election -- are apparently incapable of understanding the issues, are viewing this contest as if it were The People's Choice Awards, and are using Us Magazine criteria to choose their candidate. Does anyone here still believe that these yahoos should be allowed to vote and decide the direction of this country for the next four years? A 20 point swing among white women in a few days just shows that people still vote for what the candidates look like and not what they stand for. If Obama loses, it will be because he has gotten away from what got him the nomination in the first place. His speeches now consist mainly of recycled DNC talking points and he has abandoned his earlier positions in favor of appealing to independents by moving to the center.
