Quote Of The Day

“There are many issues that lend themselves to partisan posturing, but giving our veterans the chance to go to college should not be one of them.”

More evidence that the “straight talking” McCain is all bluster and posturing.

I’ve always felt that as the spotlight focused on McCain…as he was forced to make spontaneous comments that revealed his true feelings and positions, his reputation as a maverick who would be different from Bush would be exposed as a myth.

It seems to be happening. Stay tuned for more.

I love the follow up quote:

“Perhaps if Senator Obama would take the time and trouble to understand this issue, he would learn to debate an honest disagreement respectfully.”

The bill passed 75-22 in the Senate, illustrating a typical Republican strategy: if you don’t agree with me, you don’t understand the issue (which includes many Republicans).

    Also, love this gem:

“I will not accept from Senator Obama, who did not feel it was his responsibility to serve our country in uniform, any lectures on my regard for those who did.”

Obama has no credibility on the issue because he never served in the armed forces, yet AWOL Bush and multiple deferment Cheney’s policies should be continued. Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?

    Typical Republican double-talk.

Note how McCain evaded the question and instead cast doubt on Obama’s qualifications to even ASK the question!
