This is a cynical, despicable statement, made sadly true by the People Magazine mentality, gullibility and overall ignorance of too many Americans.
Once again, the Democrats will fail to see that perception and the culture of personality are the keys to electoral success.
With the Karl Rove/Steve Schmidt slime machine operating at full force, I’m horrified at the likely prospect of McCain and Palin running our country for years to come.
And where is Hillary Clinton? Is her desire to win in 2012 so strong that she has taken a back seat instead of standing tall in the front lines with Obama?
At this point, something very important has to happen to change the momentum away from the Evangelists/blue collars/far right/big business that seem to be calling the shots.
In my lifetime, I’ve never been so politically frightened.
Hillary Clinton is the only one that can effectively attack Palin without Republicans being able to invoke the sex card. Unfortunately, she cares more about her own political ambitions than having her party retake the White House.
It is too bad that all of Hillary’s “supporters” have become so enamored with Palin (who opposes every one of Hillary’s policy initiatives) to notice any of this. Another white woman in the race? She’s got my vote!
It could well be the angry Hillary supporters who will cost Obama this election by either voting for McCain or staying home.
If that should happen, I don’t want to hear one word from them when a McCain administration fights against equal pay for women and a McCain Supreme Court overturns Roe vs. Wade.
They had their chance!
