Will Huckabee See The Big Picture?

McCain has the GOP nomination all but officially locked up, but he desperately needs the conservative base to show up in November and support him if he wants to win the general election. Despite all pleas for common sense and party unity, Huckabee still thinks he can pull out an electoral miracle of biblical and mathematical proportions. Unfortunately for him and the imagined beliefs of his followers, G-d does not care about who becomes the next President of the United States.
Will Huckabee help elect another Republican president or will he play the spoiler and assist the ascendancy of Clinton or Obama? Not that I would expect someone more comfortable in a house of prayer than in a house of government to be familiar with nor care about subtle party rules, unpledged delegates and basic arithmetic. Will the dynamic duo join forces or will McCain find a replacement VP candidate that can attract these voters? Can McCain survive on moderates and independents alone? If recent history is any guide, probably not.

McCain needs Huckabee in the race more than he needs him to leave. I say that as a Huckabee supporter. That is common sense.
McCain will be the nominee but quite frankly if McCain had some competition it would help. He doesnt need to be going into Washington Campaign mode but better be out there shaking hands and getting people committed
In a few weeks Texas will be voting admist an wave of Democratic ad media. If Huckabee is out there reminding SOcial Conservatives why to vote and will spend his last wad of cash on this expensive media market good for him
I will note McCain has very few Events in Wisconsin. Huckabee a ton. Houston we have a problem.
Huckabee by going out enables him to be a much more effective surrogate for McCain than anyone else if McCain reaches the magic number.

McCain needs to be wasting campaign funds on a primary battle that only exists in the mind of one man? My apologies that your religious candidate of choice failed to register with enough primary voters to secure the nomination. Maybe in the future, Huckabee will care more about and recognize the important of the voter’s will instead of pretending that G-d cares about such nonsense.
